Food is our common ground, a universal experience. James Beard
It’s fun and exciting to experience new foods from different cultures. There is a foodie trend centered around "small plates.” This is not a new phenomenon. The Spanish have their tapas. The Chinese have their dim sum. And in the Arab quarter in Jerusalem you can eat like a sheik on many small plate delicacies. We can learn from these cultures. Eat less, but eat better.
Put down the catsup bottle and try some fresh salsa. Experience a chopped tomato-cucumber salad which is common to much of the Mediterranean and Arab world. Stir fry some veggies Asian style. You won't believe what you’ve been missing. Bon appetite!
